Amazon.com Product Description
Everyone's talking about the Wave street surfer inline action board, which blends the sensations of surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding in a single fun design. The Wave--which runs on two wheels rather than four--gives you the ability to perform precision 360s in small spaces, carve downhill, and even ride uphill, making it a blast for riders of all ages. And, of course, riders can perform all manner of skating tricks, including manuals, board leaps, ollies, acid drops, kick flips, and more. The Wave is distinguished by a spring-oriented torsion bar that controls the flexible front and rear panels, along with a pair of fully rotating 360-degree wheels with ABEC-5 bearings. Once on the board, the rider merely twists his or her hips back and forth in an S-shaped motion to propel down the street, with no foot propulsion required. Even better, it takes only a few minutes to learn how to ride the Wave. Within a few hours, most riders will become proficient.

Riders needn't worry about the Wave's durability, as the platforms are made of a virtually indestructible ABS plastic, while the steel torsion bar never wears down. In addition, the 77mm wheels were selected based on a tenuous balance of durability and traction. The Wave measures 35 by 9 by 5 inches (W x H x D), weighs 10 pounds, and carries a one-year warranty.

About The Wave
The Wave is the original Street Surfing board and the hottest inline action board. The Wave appeals to everyone, thanks to its innovative technology that combines the natural fluidity of surfing with the smooth maneuverability of snowboarding and skating into one new extreme board sport known as Street Surfing.

The Wave is an inline action board with two wheels that rotate 360 degrees, giving the rider the feeling and flexibility that is normally reserved for surfers and snowboarders. The Wave is also becoming popular with skaters who like the board's ability to do tricks, sharp turns, 360s, and the fact that the rider s feet never touch the ground. The board is propelled using core movements of the body, making for an excellent workout on top of being just plain fun. Learning to ride The Wave is easy and it doesn't require any prior skating, surfing, or snowboarding skills. It only takes about 15 minutes to become proficient.

Street Surfing on The Wave offers the rush that riders get from surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding yet it is easy to do right in your own driveway. The Wave is so much fun that most riders don't even realize that Street Surfing is great exercise. The Wave works the core muscles and helps to build strength and improve balance. Not only is The Wave great exercise and easy to learn, it is also affordable and portable as you can take The Wave board just about anywhere.

5 out of 5 stars Great, Durable, Fun. and Fast!   August 28, 2010
Suzanne Donato (USA)
The Wave board is a fast and fun way of skateboarding. And if your anything like me who can't skateboard or just looking for something fun, then this is the thing to get!

First off here is a review of The Wave Board vs. The Ripstick:

Speed- From the factory, the Ripstick is a little faster, but all you have to do for the Wave is loosen the screws on the wheels a little and it will go even faster!

Flexibility- The Wave board is much more flexible (the turning of wheels and the two feet surfaces). Flexibility allows the rider to do tricks, harder turns, and many long turns. The Wave board definitely is more flexible and the ripstick flexibility is not adjustable nor the Wave.

Wheelie Curve- (The wheelie curve [shown in picture on both ends of item] is a small ledge that is lifted into the air so you can put your foot with pressure to do wheelie) The wheelie curve on the Wave is bigger and has more of a grip than the ripstick. The wheelie curve is also easier to use because of the balance of the bigger two surfaces which ripstick does NOT have. Also there is a small front wheelie curve for stoppies which is the opposite of a wheelie (and does not get in the way). The ripstick does not have that.

Durable- They are both still in very good shape after a few years of use.

Factory wheels- Both wheels are very smooth but the Wave's wheels are a little more durable.

The Wave has much cooler looks than the ripstick too. I would highly recommend the Wave.

So overall this product will satisfy many and get kids outside. If you read the vs. review then you know what is fun and exciting about this product like the speed, flexibility, tricks, and style! At first it is hard to use but after 15 minutes of trying you will be doing wheelies down a hill!

3 out of 5 stars great if they learn to use it   March 8, 2010
stumblingblock (california desert)
when the kid sees somebody using one, they want to ride it, otherwise just a good idea that has not caught on. and advanced, manuverable skateboard, make sure the kid cares about that, maybe overengineered, but well made, includes a DVD to explain how to use it.

5 out of 5 stars Great wave board   February 21, 2010
M. Hebert (Knoxville, TN USA)
My grandchildren asked me to order this for them to give as a surprise to their mother who, after they each recieved a wave board for Christmas, taught them how to ride them. She enjoyed riding and occassionally would monopolize their wave boards, so they decided she needed her own. SHE LOVES IT.
The board is exactly as described and functions as expected and needed.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Table   December 26, 2009
Rudy A. Hartliep
The truth at first seemed somewhat complicated because I had never ridden in a way, but once you mount the instructions that come with the table, and makes you much easier to use and learn. The video tutorial is very helpful

3 out of 5 stars hard to conquer   October 22, 2009

I bought this for my daughter for her 8th birthday. Perhaps that is too young because she cannot get it. My older girls tried it to no avail. I tried it, and I consider myself a very coordinated person. I cannot do it. My sister, also a mom, also very coordinated, could not do it. I see people riding these things all over town, so I know it can be done. I am in awe, and try to study their movements as I see them. It feels impossible to me. So, it has been sitting in the garage for almost 4 months, winter is coming on, I don't know if it'll ever happen. I keep thinking I'm going to take it down to 'skateboard corner' and have the local 'rif raf' teach me. But how would that look? Like I'm flirting with the local 'rif raf' that's how. Nope, we'll just have to bring it out next spring and try again.
